The Illawarra Steelers U19 girls play the Newcastle Knights in the Tarsha Gale Cup Grand Final this Saturday at CommBank Stadium.
The Courtney Crawford-coached outfit goes into the decider with an undefeated record this season following nine consecutive wins, including last weekend’s 26-4 victory over the Cronulla Sharks in the semi-final.
The Knights made their way to the big dance with five wins, two losses, and a draw in the regular season and upset wins over Manly 18-16 in Week 1 and the Bulldogs 28-0 in Week 2 of the Finals Series.

Courtney Crawford has named her semi-final winning lineup for the decider against Novocastrians. It will be the Knights third grand final appearance since the competition’s inception in 2018. They lost to the Sharks 36-22 in the inaugural season and the Steelers 24-12 in 2019. Both teams were eliminated in the semi-finals last year, falling one game short of the grand final.
